The perfect family experience
WHAT DOES A FAMILY VISIT visit to Ocean Breeze Villa in beautiful Roatan look like? Well, for starters, there’s something for everyone at the Villa, and we have room for big groups — with the right sleeping set-up, we can easily handle a family of a dozen or more, and our property is big enough for everyone to explore and play. From snorkeling off of our private dock to soaking in our own little tidal pool, or paddling out beyond the surf break on one of our handy kayaks or SUPs, everybody can stay busy without even leaving the grounds.
But that’s the beauty of the East End. There’s so much to do, but no set itinerary. Maybe some want to learn a little pirate lore and tour the mangrove channels cut by the privateers hundreds of years ago. Or maybe the kiddos want to take a thrilling zipline above the jungle canopy or visit the local iguana farm. Maybe the moms in the group would enjoy a spa day and some shopping at the tourist village in Coxen Hole. And fishing? It starts off of our dock, but we can also call a local guide for a day spent chasing bonefish and permit on the flats.
The Villa really is a family destination. But, here on the chill East End of the island of Roatan, we do things at a more comfortable pace. When you visit, you’ll understand what we mean.
Arrival and first impressions
Flying into Roatan is easy, and the rates are very similar to airline rates you might pay to fly to Belize, Cancun or Cozumel — we’re just a little further south. As you fly in, you’ll be greeted by turquoise water and lush greenery — it’s the perfect welcome to our little island home. When you arrive at Ocean Breeze Villa, you’ll be greeted by our friendly team of caretakers, cooks and housekeepers — they keep the Villa humming along, and they keep guests very happy. If you book a family vacation package to the Villa, you’ll enjoy full-service, and that means you’ll get three meals a day, housekeeping service and even daily laundry service.
Villa highlights
One of the things our guests love most about Ocean Breeze Villa is the main house. We have plenty of room for everyone to have their own space, but also fantastic common areas, like our big living room, our front porch overlooking the ocean and the spacious patio where everybody can find their little quiet corner in the shade. Meals are served family style, either inside the Villa or on the porch — it’s totally up to you.
We really want our guests to make the most of their trip, so let us help you plan a few relaxing days and some more adventurous outings. In addition to snorkeling off the dock on Mesoamerican Reef — which is just incredible — we can arrange for specialized snorkeling outings on our local Tiki Boat, which is great for big groups. If you have scuba divers in the family, let us know. We work with the Reef House right next door, and we can put together some very affordable diving and lodging packages.
Making the most of family time
But honestly, the best thing the Villa has going for it? We’re the perfect place for you to come and spend quality time together as a family. Our guests have famous game nights on the front porch after the sun sets over the sea, and you can even have quiet movie nights — we have high-speed internet for streaming your favorite films and shows.
Saying goodbye to Roatan and the Ocean Breeze Villa was really tough. We all left feeling so refreshed and connected, with so many amazing memories. The pool was a huge hit with the kids, and we spent many afternoons splashing around. The kitchen was fully equipped, which made cooking meals together a joy. And oh, the sunsets from the balcony!
